You’re Supporting Your Senior Neighbors’ Health

Angela Bingham
Angela Bingham

Finances have been tighter and tighter since Angela had to leave her retail job to care for her husband, Charles. He has a seizure disorder that has affected his memory and functioning. Although Charles is a veteran, he doesn’t get any assistance.

Angela’s health has been deteriorating, too. She’s losing her vision and has a blood clot in her chest that could be cancer-related. To further complicate the couple’s situation, their home has bad leaks and other structural problems, which also impact their well-being. But with so many other expenses and a limited budget, there’s rarely money for groceries — let alone home repairs.

Your generosity means Charles and Angela can access good, quality food as they work to overcome their hardships. Angela found out about the food pantry at St. Vincent DePaul, which partners with the Montgomery County Food Bank to provide assistance for families like hers.

The nutritious fresh produce and other items available at the pantry give Angela and Charles the nutrients needed to improve their health — and alleviate some of the strain on their budget.

“I appreciate this help a lot,” Angela says to friends like you. “I wish I could help.”

You bring renewed hope to so many people through your generous support. Thank you for sharing what you have!
