“[I] need this to keep from going hungry,” Yule says of the St. Vincent DePaul Sacred Heart Food Pantry near his home in Conroe. “[There’s] not much left for food.”
Yule receives just $700 a month in Social Security assistance, and his rent is $400. Like so many local seniors, he struggles to afford basic expenses — including food.
After two heart attacks and a stroke, Yule still deals with persistent health problems like high blood pressure, back pain and kidney illness. He served in the Marines for eight years and later retired from his job as a truck driver.
Hardworking neighbors like Yule are the cornerstone of our Montgomery County community. He’s spent years serving our country, working hard and even volunteering his time with the Food Bank. But nowadays, he has a hard time even affording groceries.
Your support makes a real difference. You help fill the shelves of the Sacred Heart Church Food Pantry and so many other Montgomery County Food Bank partners that help reach seniors, children and families with the food they need to thrive.
“You’re doing God’s work,” Yule says. “Keep doing what you’re doing because you’re helping so many.”
On behalf of Yule and his neighbors, thank you for fighting hunger in our community. Your gift makes a big impact.
