The high cost of food and other goods is impacting all of us, but for families like John’s who have extended family members to care for, it’s a challenge to feed everyone.
“Everything has gotten too expensive,” John says. “Families like ours are struggling every day to put a hot meal on the table.”
John and his wife have three children, aged 6 to 15. A teenage nephew lives with them, too. Then, a few months ago, John’s father-in-law moved in...
John works contract jobs but has struggled to get the hours he needs. So to help bridge the gap between his income and the nutritional needs of his household, John visits our partner pantry at Society of Samaritans.
“This helps a lot as a supplement,” John says, knowing the extra help with food will offset other expenses. “It helps our family a lot, especially for breakfast and dinners.”
On behalf of families, children and seniors throughout Montgomery County – thank you for giving again today to ensure people facing hunger will have enough to eat this holiday season!
