Brenda, 70, is a fighter. She has been in remission from cancer for 17 years now and continues to work hard to support her health so she can live a long, happy life with her husband, Glenn, 72.
That’s why Brenda is especially grateful for friends like you who help ensure she has plenty of fresh food on the table to help her thrive. We met Brenda on a visit to Wildkat Resource Center, a Food Bank partner agency.
“I appreciate Montgomery County Food Bank,” Brenda shares. “They have always helped our community and are doing a wonderful job.”
Along with being in remission from cancer, Brenda also manages her diabetes and high blood pressure. Glenn typically prepares meals for the two of them, incorporating healthy groceries from the Resource Center.
“I have learned to eat healthy. I love fruits and vegetables,” Brenda says.
Since Brenda retired from working for the school district and Glenn retired from his job at a canning company, the couple has relied on a limited, fixed income to pay the bills.
Thankfully, the Resource Center is a great supplement to their grocery budget. Brenda also shares any items she and Glenn can’t use with their neighbors and elders at church.
