Montgomery County Food Bank Event Raises Over 600,000 Meals for the Community

9th annual Shootout Hunger sporting clays tournament on September 10, 2021 at Blackwood Gun Club in Conroe, TX

Montgomery County, TX, September 23, 2021 – Montgomery County Food Bank (MCFB) held its 9th annual Shootout Hunger sporting clays tournament on September 10, 2021 at Blackwood Gun Club in Conroe, TX. Presented by Cowboy Kia, the event exceeded expectations by raising a total of $123,950 which will provide 619,750 meals for hungry children, families and seniors in Montgomery County. Every dollar raised provides five meals for those in need.

Thirty-eight teams, including over 150 shooters, participated in the tournament to benefit the food bank and the tens of thousands of people MCFB serves monthly. Top sponsors included Cowboy Kia, Southwestern Energy, Woodforest National Bank and Quality Home Products of Texas. The event also featured a live auction, raffle and trophy ceremony.

“The success of this year’s event wouldn’t have been possible without our sponsors, participants and volunteers, and especially Cowboy Kia for their ongoing support for this event,” said Kristine Marlow, President and CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank. “It was humbling to witness so many local businesses and community members uniting together to better the lives of our countless neighbors in need.”
