THE WOODLANDS, TX (July 6, 2020) – Montgomery County Food Bank is pleased to announce Cowboy Kia as the presenting sponsor for the 8th annual “Shootout Hunger” shooting clays fundraising tournament set for September 11, 2020. The highly anticipated event will be held at the premiere shooting range Ables Gun Club in Huntsville, Texas.

Holding the event on such a notable day allows the Montgomery County Food Bank to honor the spirit of unity and compassion the country continues to display on September 11 as well as recognize how the Montgomery County community has united in the wake of COVID-19.

“We are excited to announce this year’s Shootout Hunger clay tournament with presenting sponsor Cowboy Kia,” said Gil Staley, MCFB board member and Shootout attendee. “Last year we raised over $100,000 and provided more than 500,000 meals to children, seniors and families in need in Montgomery County. Every dollar raised provides five meals to our hungry neighbors and allows us to continue to fight hunger and feed hope.”

There are numerous sponsorship opportunities, awards, and networking capabilities for all companies to enjoy bringing their colleagues and clients out to enjoy an exciting day of clay shooting. Experienced shooters and novices are encouraged to attend. Event organizers are working closely with Able’s to ensure that safety protocols are firmly in place to keep all guests protected throughout the day of the event. This popular event sells out quickly so early reservations are encouraged.

Registration is now open and can be found at www.mcfoodbank.org/shoot-out. For more information about the event, contact Lindy Johnson, Director of Development, at ljohnson@mcfoodbank.org or call 936-271-8822.

ABOUT MONTGOMERY COUNTY FOOD BANK:

The Montgomery County Food Bank’s mission is to unite the community to fight hunger.  Last year we were able to provide over 11 million nutritional meals through our vast network of over 70 partner pantries, local school districts, and community partners. We work in partnership with retailers and wholesalers to provide a solution for food waste by rescuing food that would otherwise go to the landfill. As a part of our green initiatives program, we operate an onsite Produce Rescue Center that allows us to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables which emphasizes the importance of sustainability and promote healthy food choices.  Our vision of a community where everyone has access to sufficient, nutritious food is possible through the support of our volunteers and our community and corporate partners

The Montgomery County Food Bank is a 501(c) (3) Non-Profit Organization with a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, member of the Texas Food Bank Network, a partner with the Houston Food Bank, and a certified member of Feeding America.
