Montgomery County, TX, May 17, 2022 – Montgomery County Food Bank (MCFB) held its Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope Gala Saturday, April 2, 2022. The sold-out event welcomed more than 400 guests to The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. Presented by Woodforest National Bank, the event’s proceeds benefit the Food Bank’s programs and the thousands of children, families and seniors facing hunger in Montgomery County.

The theme for the gala was “One For The Records,” spotlighting the record breaking work of the Food Bank, its volunteers and community partners in 2020 and 2021. The theme allowed guests to ditch the usual black ties and evening gowns and spice up their night’s attire with rock ‘n’ roll flair. It was a big hit among the crowd - presenting a fun, celebratory atmosphere while also raising money for a very important cause.

The premier event showcased a variety of ways for community members to support the Food Bank, including a live auction, silent auction, wine and spirits pull, and raffle. Scott Harper, President of the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce, and J.J. Hollie, President and CEO of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, served as co-emcees for the evening. Dr. Ann Snyder, who serves on both the Montgomery County Food Bank’s and The Woodlands Township’s Board of Directors, served as Honorary Chair of the event alongside Gala Chair, Amy Hollie.

Through Montgomery County Food Bank’s connections and buying power, every dollar donated to MCFB helps provide up to five meals for those in need. The gala raised over $350,000 which will help provide up to an incredible 1.75 million meals. In 2021, MCFB served an average of 55,800 people each month and a total of 9.6 million meals. An impact not possible without the community’s support. “On behalf of the Woodforest National Bank team, we are pleased to be the Presenting Sponsor of the Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope Gala,” said Jay Dreibelbis, President & CEO of Woodforest National Bank. “As proud, long-time supporters of Montgomery County Food Bank, we are happy to contribute to the great work it does to provide nutritious meals for our many neighbors in need.”

“Our community has come together in a big way to support our neighbors in need these past two years. The funds raised at the gala are critical in furthering our mission,” said Kristine Marlow, President and CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank. “I am beyond grateful for the community’s faithful support. Together, we are stronger in the fight against hunger.”

The event’s top sponsors included Presenting Sponsor, Woodforest National Bank, and Platinum Sponsors, Huntsman Corporation and Kroger. To learn more about Montgomery County Food Bank and how you can help fight hunger, visit mcfoodbank.org.
