Margarita Is Giving Thanks for You

Margarita is grateful for your kindness.
Margarita is grateful for your kindness.

In her 60s, Margarita never imagined she’d be struggling with hunger at this age. But she was having a tough time before the pandemic hit. Now, she’s not sure when she’ll be able to find stable work.

Margarita moved in with friends so they could pool their resources and save on expenses. She’s been trying to find a full-time job for a couple years now. In the meantime, Margarita often has to decide whether to use her limited income to pay bills or buy medicine to support her health.

In addition to medical problems, her car is out of
commission and needing costly repairs — which further limits her job prospects. Margarita says she has no idea what she’d do without access to the Montgomery County Food Bank mobile pantry that visits Grace Crossing Community Church in Conroe.

“Without the Food Bank, it would be very hard,” she says.

Your gifts are used to share much needed food safely and efficiently throughout our network of partners and programs. So many neighbors are giving thanks for your generous support.

“You’ve been so wonderful,” Margarita says of friends likeyou.
