Michael and Samuel were all smiles the day we met them at Highpoint Fellowship’s mobile food distribution, a partner agency of Montgomery County Food Bank.
That’s because fruit, produce and other healthy foods are a priority for this household. “I’m a big health nut and having this as an option keeps us eating healthy,” Michael says.
The mobile food distribution came at an important time for this family. Michael is a disabled Navy veteran who is having trouble finding a job he can do with his disability. He’s doing mechanical work on the side to bridge the gap between paying bills and buying groceries, but sometimes the gap is too great.
Michael is thankful that he can turn to Montgomery County Food Bank for help when he needs it. “Having food for my son is all I care about,” he says.
Help from friends like you has made a huge difference for this proud father, taking away some of the worry during a difficult season.
“I appreciate what the Food Bank and others are doing to help,” Michael says, sincerely.
Thank you for your ongoing support in fighting hunger and feeding hope through our extensive network of partner pantries, local school districts, community partners -- and mobile food distributions like the one that serves Michael’s community.
