Alejandra Shares Thanks for Your Help

Bella and Sebastian share hopeful smiles!
Bella and Sebastian share hopeful smiles!

Our neighbor Alejandra is working hard to earn her GED while also raising three wonderful children. Bella, 7, loves to dance. Her older sister, Ariana, 15, is a soccer player. Both sisters try to be role models for their youngest brother, Sebastian, who just turned 5 this year.

Nourishing food is the best fuel for dancing, soccer and growing up strong. But for mom, Alejandra, who is the sole supporter for her children, healthy food just isn’t affordable.

“It’s a challenge with money every day, but I am just trying to take it one day at a time,” she says.

We met Alejandra, Bella and Sebastian at Abundant Harvest Kitchen, a partner agency of Montgomery County Food Bank. There, the family picks up much-loved food items like fruit, chicken and snacks.

Thanks to your generosity, Alejandra and her kids can take home enough food to last over a week. On school breaks, when the children don’t receive free breakfast and lunch, the support is truly critical.

“We appreciate all that you do,” Alejandra says to Food Bank supporters like you. “May God bless you!”

It is because of you that children, seniors and families across Montgomery County, who are experiencing hunger can access the fresh, healthy food needed to thrive. Thank you!
