“I’m a strong believer in supporting our community.”
Lieutenant James Guzman, Corps Officer/Pastor of the Salvation Army Conroe Community Center, says your gifts to the food bank are creating an abundance of resources for neighbors who need help most.
“It’s always good to have choices... produce, frozen meats, canned goods... The community appreciates that,” he says.
The center operates an emergency food pantry stocked with food from Montgomery County Food Bank and local farmers. Unique to this corps, however, is its role as an emergency shelter. It can house up to 72 people and provides a warm lunch each day.
“We want people to have basic needs met – like places to stay and food to eat,” Lieutenant Guzman says. “The need has increased this past year.”
Thank you to the Salvation Army Conroe Corps for your partnership to end hunger in Montgomery County. We are so happy to have you by our side in the fight against hunger.
