Since 1985, the Community Assistance Center (CAC) in Conroe, Texas has partnered with the Montgomery County Food Bank to provide a client choice food pantry for Montgomery County neighbors facing hunger.
While CAC offers a wide range of services, its overall aim is to meet basic needs and improve the quality of life for neighbors in Montgomery County.
Each Tuesday through Friday, the CAC operates a client choice food pantry, offering personalized selections of food for neighbors facing hunger.
The food pantry resembles a small grocery market, where people can select food items based on the needs of their family.
Fresh produce, a variety of proteins, and shelf stable selections are all available at no cost to neighbors facing hunger.
Whenever possible, baby care, personal hygiene items and cleaning products are also distributed. Additionally, the CAC offers education courses on a variety of subjects including nutrition classes.
