Serving the Unserved and Underserved in Our Community
The Montgomery County Food Bank’s (MCFB) Mobile Pantry Program seeks to increase access points to food for clients in areas that are unserved or underserved due to a lack of agencies and/or agency resources.
Mobile pantries are a method of direct client distribution by MCFB utilizing a refrigerated vehicle to deliver fresh produce, bread/pastries, and a variety of meat to an area in the community lacking food resources.
Mobile pantries expand the capacity and outreach of MCFB while removing the barriers that may prevent access to food resources. Food is delivered in an effective and efficient manner to clients in their own communities through the help of volunteers.
