“Look what I got!” exclaimed CC Hardy Elementary School first-grader Antonio, as he received a bag of fresh oranges, apples and bananas to take home for him and his family to eat. Antonio’s huge smile and excitement was shared by many other children who received a colorful bag of fresh produce during a time of need that they face during the summer.
As these children enter the summer months, they face uncertainty as to whether there will be breakfast, lunch or dinner in their homes. Because of the generous support last year, Montgomery County Food Bank provided 150,000 meals to these low-income children as part of our annual Summer Hunger campaign.
This summer Montgomery County Food Bank continues to assist our youngest neighbors in need. Our hope is to provide more than 150,000 meals as the need is great and no child should be left out.
Please consider a donation to our Summer Hunger campaign and help children like Antonio have a summertime filled with happy memories, not fear and anxiety from food insecurity!
Few things make us happier than making sure our children have every opportunity to be happy and healthy. Together we can help those in need in our community, especially our children, and keep Montgomery County strong. We could not do this important work without you.
