While many Montgomery County residents are getting excited for Super Bowl 51 right here in our own back yard, Montgomery County Food Bank is “souped-up” for our annual campaign to feed the 85,000 food insecure residents of our area with Souper Bowl of Caring! This annual, youth-led movement takes place during the weeks leading up to the Big Game and involves over 1,000 groups in the Houston area. This movement generated more than 2.75 million meals for our neighbors in need in 2016, and we are excited for the possibilities in 2017!There are four impactful ways to join the team and “tackle hunger” with Souper Bowl of Caring 2017.
Whichever of these game plans you follow, you will be scoring touchdowns for the residents who need it most in Montgomery County. Focused on the collection of monetary donations rather than canned goods, a virtual food drive or online donation is a great way to help MCFB save on resources such as drivers, fuel and food sorters. While each food item donated helps tremendously, the impact of just one dollar donated serves a greater impact by providing 3.5 nutritious meals to a child, adult or senior with an empty stomach! Now that’s a win-win situation!
Be a champion for those without a voice and raise critical awareness, valuable resources and efficient funds for our very important mission; fighting hunger in Montgomery County.
